Studio Policies
VIBE PERFORMING ARTS STUDIO POLICIES
STUDIO TUITION and PARENT POLICY: At Vibe Performing Arts, our tuition policy is designed for weekly dance classes from September through the second week of June. To cover potential snow days, we've included extra days in the schedule, and payments are spread over 9.5 months for 33 weeks of lessons. Tuition is due on the 20th of the prior month and can be paid via cash, check, or major credit cards. Please make checks payable to Vibe Performing Arts. We regret that we cannot refund tuition for missed classes. Late payments incur a $25 late fee and a $25 charge for returned checks. If your account falls behind by over two months, your child's enrollment may be canceled unless you pay the balance. All payments, including registration fees, tuition, and costume balances, are non-refundable.
STUDIO BEHAVIOR POLICY: Any behavior by the dancer or parent/guardian that is detrimental to the team or Vibe may result in immediate dismissal from Vibe. This includes gossiping, negative comments or actions in person or on social media, saying hurtful things to or about another student, parent, or staff member, and using profanity or other inappropriate language. As a community of dancers, teachers, and parents, our ultimate goal is the well-being of our dancers. Parents must respect each other, the instructors, and the director. Negative attitudes and energy can be contagious and harmful, so we have a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior. If a parent or dancer has concerns, they should discuss them with the director privately. Gossip or negative talk about other parents, children, teachers, or staff will not be tolerated in person or on social media. Such behavior may result in a meeting with the directors, a reprimand, and possible dismissal from the company and the studio without reimbursement for fees. As a reminder, all dancers must adhere to the behavior policies outlined in this memorandum. Prompt arrival and preparedness for the class are expected of all students. Additionally, respectful interactions with both the teacher and fellow dancers are required during class. We understand that each child has their own unique circumstances that may contribute to difficulties in the studio, and we are committed to working with parents to address any issues that arise. Our priority is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students. However, if a child consistently exhibits disruptive behavior that threatens the well-being of others, appropriate measures will be taken.
In the event of disruptive behavior, the teacher will follow a five-step protocol. Firstly, the child will be given a verbal warning. If the behavior persists, the teacher will request that the child takes a time-out in the company of a parent or staff member. The child may return once deemed ready by the adult. The teacher will complete a behavior check-in form and submit it to the office. Additionally, the teacher will meet with the student and/or parent after class to discuss the incident, including its unacceptability and what is expected moving forward. The director will email the parent to confirm receipt of the behavior check-in form. If the behavior continues, a formal meeting will be held with the director, student, and parent. If necessary, a support plan will be created with short and long-term goals, to be developed with the student (if over 10 years old) or with both the student and parent (if under 10 years old). If the child does not demonstrate progress on the support plan, the studio director or creative coordinator may elect to suspend them.
SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY As a representative of Vibe, it's important to remember that a dancer's social media profile is an extension of themselves. To maintain a high behavior standard, students and parents are expected to follow the Code of Ethics outlined below. We aim to create a positive and inclusive team environment that is friendly, helpful, and welcoming to everyone. Any posts on social media that intentionally criticize the team, instructors, peers, or studio staff will result in the possibility of being dismissed group the team and studio. Additionally, we ask that no studio choreography videos be shared on any social media platform.
CODE OF ETHICS At Vibe Performing Arts, we expect all team members to model exemplary behavior, participation, and dedication. Respect for each other and studio, good sportsmanship, and adherence to our Code of Ethics. We hold all students accountable for social media posts that undermine our staff or cause conflict. We will discuss any concerns with the student and parent during a conference.

For Ballet Classes from beginner to advanced: Female dancers must wear a black leotard with pink tights and keep their hair in a neat ballet bun. It's advised to avoid wearing sports bras or jewelry and not to wear eyeglasses unless it's necessary. Male dancers should wear a white leotard or a plain white t-shirt tucked into black tights, along with black ballet shoes. This is the standard dress code for ballet dancers.
Tap and Jazz classes - comfortable attire facilitating movement is mandatory. For Tap, black tap shoes are necessary, while for Jazz, bare feet are required.
Hip Hop classes - it's necessary to wear comfortable clothing such as loose shirts, sweatpants, or loose-fitting shorts. Don't forget to put on a pair of sneakers to complete your look.
